NATURA, FINALITÀ E OGGETTO

Dopo la fortunata prima edizione del 2024, torna il progetto fotografico “Erotica”, con l’obiettivo di promuovere nuove visioni e prospettive fotografiche sul corpo e l’erotismo. Viene pertanto indetta una call per la partecipazione alla mostra collettiva “Erotica II”, che si terrà dal 3 al 16 agosto 2026 presso gli spazi storici del Forte Marghera (Venezia), Padiglione C32, Sezione Officine Forte Marghera. L’inaugurazione è prevista per venerdì 7 agosto 2026 alle ore 19:00.

Se nella precedente edizione si invitavano i fotografi contemporanei a riflettere sull’evoluzione del genere erotico nel XX secolo, analizzandone trasformazioni e contesti storici, decade per decade, questa nuova edizione amplia lo sguardo fino ad oggi, accogliendone tendenze, linguaggi e ispirazioni contemporanei.

“Erotica II” intende sottoporre, attraverso i fotografi contemporanei, le visioni con cui nel tempo la fotografia ha interpretato: 

• la fisicità del corpo
• la sua dimensione simbolica e sacrale
• i limiti e le trasformazioni del pudore le implicazioni culturali e politiche dello sguardo.

Il bando trae ispirazione dall’opera di una selezione di fotografi storicizzati, uno per ogni decade, dall’inizio del Novecento a oggi , scelti come figure emblematiche del proprio tempo. Tali autori hanno contribuito a definire l’iconografia del corpo e dell’erotismo nelle rispettive epoche, in dialogo con i movimenti artistici e i contesti socio-politici, influenzando la formazione e l’evoluzione del gusto visivo.
La sfida proposta agli autori contemporanei è ambiziosa e si articola sulla base di alcune riflessioni chiave:

• In che modo è cambiata nel tempo la rappresentazione del corpo e dell’erotismo nella fotografia?
• Quanto la fotografia erotica storica ha influenzato e continua a influenzare l’immaginario visivo contemporaneo?
• La fotografia può essere considerata una sintesi delle tendenze estetiche e dello stile di vita di un’epoca o di una generazione?

NATURE, PURPOSE, AND SCOPE

Following the successful first edition in 2024,  “Erotica” photography project returns with the aim of promoting new visions and photographic perspectives on the body and eroticism. We are therefore issuing a call for submissions to the group exhibition “Erotica II,” which will take place from August 3 to 16, 2026, at the historic Forte Marghera (Venice), Pavilion C32, Officine Forte Marghera section. The opening is scheduled for Friday, August 7, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

While the previous edition invited contemporary photographers to reflect on the evolution of the erotic genre in the 20th century, analyzing its transformations and historical contexts decade by decade, this new edition broadens its scope to the present day, embracing contemporary trends, languages, and inspirations.
“Erotica II” aims to present, through the work of contemporary photographers, the visions through which photography has interpreted over time: 

• the physicality of the body
•  its symbolic and sacred dimensions
•  the limits and transformations of modesty, and the cultural and political implications of the gaze.

The call for entries draws inspiration from the work of a selection of historically significant photographers—one for each decade—from the early 20th century to the present, chosen as emblematic figures of their time. These artists have helped define the iconography of the body and eroticism in their respective eras, engaging with artistic movements and socio-political contexts, and influencing the formation and evolution of visual taste.
The challenge posed to contemporary artists is ambitious and is structured around several key questions:

• How has the representation of the body and eroticism in photography changed over time?
• To what extent has historical erotic photography influenced and continues to influence the contemporary visual imagination?
• Can photography be considered a synthesis of the aesthetic trends and lifestyle of an era or a generation?

REQUISITI DI AMMISSIONE

• Il bando si rivolge ad autori che usano come mezzo di comunicazione la fotografia e che presentano opere inerenti all’oggetto di cui sopra.
• Non saranno accettate immagini con contenuto pornografico o che rappresentino con evidente volgarità atti o rapporti sessuali espliciti.
• Possono partecipare anche i collettivi, è ammessa la partecipazione anche solo con il nome d’arte. Sono ammessi progetti realizzati con fotografie analogiche o digitali, sintografie (dichiarate), lavori mixed-media o sotto forma di installazione in piena libertà stilistica e tecnica.
• Per candidarsi alla selezione, i fotografi devono inviare una email con oggetto Erotica a : [email protected] entro e non oltre le ore 23:59 del 23 maggio 2026, con allegati i seguenti documenti:
• Scheda di Adesione;
• Immagini delle opere (si consiglia di inviare un numero tra 5 e 15 immagini) così nominate: nome_cognome _numero della foto_ misure (cornice inclusa). Ogni file formato jpg, o png, max 2MB
• Fotocopia di un documento d’identità in corso di validità.

ESPOSIZIONE DELLA MOSTRA PRESSO LE OFFICINE FORTE MARGHERA

Le opere dei finalisti saranno esposte nella mostra che si terrà nelle Officine Forte Marghera, situate all’interno del Forte Marghera (Venezia, Padiglione C32), dal 3° al 16 agosto 2026.

• L’allestimento della mostra è curato dagli organizzatori, che a proprio insindacabile giudizio definiscono le aree da dedicare a ciascun fotografo selezionato, tenendo conto dello spazio minimo per ogni autore (min. 1 mt.). il numero delle opere da esporre, al fine di ottenere la migliore qualità dell’allestimento.
• Altresì a carico degli organizzatori sarà lo smontaggio della mostra, dopo la fine del periodo dell’esposizione. 
• I costi per la realizzazione delle opere presentate sono a carico dei fotografi selezionati, che dovranno a proprie spese inviare o consegnare i lavori, pronti per essere applicati a parete con appositi sistemi di aggancio, all’indirizzo: Forte Marghera, (all’interno del Forte Marghera) Padiglione C32 Via Forte Marghera,30, 30172 Venezia (all’attenzione di Ivana Galli) 
• In caso di necessità, gli organizzatori forniranno un corriere di fiducia.
• Nel caso di interessamento da parte di terzi all’acquisto delle opere esposte, gli organizzatori creeranno un contatto diretto tra questi e i rispettivi autori, in modo che le trattative avvengano privatamente e senza che alcun compenso sia dovuto agli organizzatori.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• This call for entries is open to artists who use photography as a medium of expression and who submit works related to the aforementioned theme.
• Images with pornographic content or that depict explicit sexual acts or relations with obvious vulgarity will not be accepted.
• Collectives may also participate, and participation is permitted even under a stage name. Projects created using analog or digital photography, (declared) synchrography, mixed-media works, or installations are accepted, with complete freedom of style and technique.
• To apply for selection, photographers must send an email with the subject line “Erotica” to: [email protected] no later than 11:59 PM on May 23, 2026, with the following documents attached:
• Application Form;
• Images of the works (we recommend submitting between 5 and 15 images) named as follows: author’s first name_last name_photo number_ measures (including frame). Each file on  jpg or png format, max 2MB
• A photocopy of a valid ID.

EXHIBITION AT THE OFFICINE FORTE MARGHERA

The finalists’ works will be displayed in the exhibition to be held at the Officine Forte Marghera, located inside Forte Marghera (Venice, Pavilion C32), from August 3 to 16, 2026.

• The exhibition layout is managed by the organizers, who, at their sole discretion, determine the areas to be allocated to each selected photographer, taking into account the minimum space required for each artist (min. 1 m). The number of works to be exhibited is determined to ensure the highest quality of the layout.
• The organizers will also be responsible for dismantling the exhibition after the end of the exhibition period.
• The costs for the production of the submitted works are the responsibility of the selected photographers, who must, at their own expense, ship or deliver the works, ready to be mounted on the wall using appropriate hanging systems, to the following address: Forte Marghera, (inside Forte Marghera) Pavilion C32 Via Forte Marghera, 30, 30172 Venice (Attn: Ivana Galli)
• If necessary, the organizers will provide a trusted courier.
• Should third parties express interest in purchasing the exhibited works, the organizers will facilitate direct contact between them and the respective artists, so that negotiations may take place privately and without any compensation being due to the organizers.

SELEZIONE

• Una giuria, costituita da Ivana Galli (fotografa), Stefano Questorio(fotografo e danzatore), Patrizio Cipollini (fotografo), Carlo Gallerati (gallerista), sceglierà le opere da esporre, tra tutte quelle proposte dagli autori candidati.
• L’esito della selezione è insindacabile. In caso di selezione, i fotografi scelti devono confermare la loro adesione definitiva effettuando il pagamento della quota e compilando il modulo che sarà loro fornito (tutto ciò, entro il termine fissato nel calendario, ossia il 30 maggio).
• La partecipazione alla selezione è gratuita: il versamento della quota di adesione alla mostra è obbligatorio per i soli autori selezionati, le cui opere saranno pertanto esposte nella mostra e pubblicate sul catalogo.
• Tale quota, necessaria per la copertura delle spese di produzione dell’evento espositivo e del catalogo a stampa, è di 200 euro per ciascun autore+ 10 euro di quota associativa.

SELECTION

• A jury composed of Ivana Galli (photographer), Stefano Questorio (photographer and dancer), Patrizio Cipollini (photographer), and Carlo Gallerati (gallery owner) will select the works to be exhibited from among all thosesubmitted by the participating artists.
• The selection decision is final. If selected, the chosen photographers must confirm their definitive participation by paying the fee and filling out the form that will be provided to them (all of this must be done by the deadline set in the calendar, namely May 30).
• Participation in the selection process is free of charge: payment of the exhibition participation fee is required only for selected artists, whose works will therefore be displayed in the exhibition andpublished in the catalog.
• This fee, necessary to cover the production costs of the exhibition and the printed catalog, is 200 euros per artist plus a 10-euro membership fee.

l’originalità e la piena disponibilità, nonché la liceità dei contenuti visivi e testuali. Assicura che le
opere non violano diritti di terzi e manleva organizzatori e partner da qualsiasi pretesa o responsabilità. È consapevole che materiali incompleti o non conformi comportano l’esclusione, così
come opere non originali o lesive di diritti altrui. Con la partecipazione accetta integralmente il presente regolamento.



DIRITTI DI RIPRODUZIONE DELLE IMMAGINI

Gli autori autorizzano gratuitamente gli organizzatori a pubblicare, riprodurre e diffondere le opere e i relativi testi, in qualsiasi forma e mezzo, esclusivamente per finalità promozionali e divulgative della mostra e delle sue eventuali ripresentazioni. Gli autori restano titolari del copyright. Gli organizzatori si impegnano a citare sempre gli autori e a non cedere a terzi il materiale senza consenso. Il materiale sarà archiviato al termine dell’evento. Con l’adesione, gli autori autorizzano il trattamento dei dati personali ai sensi del GDPR 2016/679 e accettano la conservazione della documentazione.

DECLARATIONS

The author declares that he/she is the sole owner of the submitted works and the related rights, and guarantees their originality and full availability, as well as the legality of the visual and textual content. The author assures that the works do not infringe upon the rights of third parties and indemnifies the organizers and partners against any claims or liabilities. The author is aware that incomplete or non-compliant materials will result in disqualification, as will works that are not original or that infringe upon the rights of others. By participating, the author fully accepts these rules.



RIGHTS TO REPRODUCE IMAGES

The authors grant the organizers the right, free of charge, to publish, reproduce, and distribute the works andrelated texts, in any form and by any means, exclusively for promotional and informational purposes regarding the exhibition and any future presentations thereof. The authors retain ownership of the copyright. The organizers undertake to always credit the authors and not to transfer the material to third parties without consent. The material will be archived at the end of the event. By participating, the authors authorize the processing of personal data in accordance with GDPR 2016/679 and consent to the retention of the documentation.
